Our Story
Julia Boda is the person behind BodaWorks. A designer who leads with empathy, thinks in systems, and refuses to hand a client a brand that doesn't actually sound like them.
She studied Design at the University of West Hungary. Then she kept going. Denmark's International People's College, where she dug into human rights and Nordic architecture. Turkey's Anadolu University, where she got serious about printmaking, calligraphy, branding, and desktop publishing. A live performance at the Venice Biennale in Italy, because apparently design school wasn't going to teach her everything about art as language.
Now she's based in Glasgow. Over a decade in, having worked across publishing, events, and design teams, on projects spanning science, education, and technology. Every one of them got the same thing: curiosity, cultural range, and zero patience for design without a reason behind it.
BodaWorks. isn't the studio Julia started with. It went through its own rebrand, its own honest look in the mirror, before it became what it is now. Which means every brand strategy Julia builds for a client, she's already stress-tested on her own business first.
Fun fact: Julia once acted on Turkish National Television. Her acting career was short. There was a very good reason.
What that adds up to
Distinctive, emotionally intelligent brands. Not a tagline, an operating instruction. Every project runs through the same five-step process, Bedrock to Buttress, strategy before shape, always. See how it works →
BodaWorks. Glasgow-based. Global in outlook. Built by someone who did her own brand and came out the other side with taste, a point of view, and the receipts.
Julia Boda is the creative force behind our studio — an empathetic and bold designer with a global perspective and a passion for meaningful, human-centred design.
Originally from Hungary, Julia studied Design at the University of West Hungary, laying the foundation for a career that would cross borders, cultures, and disciplines. Her international journey has taken her to Denmark, where she delved into Human Rights, Nordic Architecture, and the arts at the International People’s College; to Turkey’s Anadolu University, where she focused on printmaking, calligraphy, branding, and desktop publishing; and to Italy, where she took part in a live performance at the renowned Venice Biennale, embracing the power of art as a global language.
Now based in Glasgow, Scotland, Julia brings together over a decade of versatile experience, having worked across publishing, events, and leading design teams. She has contributed to a wide range of projects spanning science, education, human resources, and technology — always infusing her work with curiosity, cultural sensitivity, and a strong sense of purpose.
Open-minded and full of fresh energy, Julia’s design approach is modern, intentional, and emotionally intelligent — crafted to connect deeply, inspire action, and leave a lasting impression.
Fun fact: Julia once acted on Turkish National Television in an educational show — although she jokes that her acting career was short-lived (and for a very good reason!), it’s a charming twist in her creative journey.
