When The National Medical Library set out to modernise its presence, it needed more than just a refreshed look — it needed a visual language that could balance the authority of medical research with the accessibility of public knowledge. BodaWorks stepped in to create a clear, contemporary design system that would honour the institution’s legacy while positioning it confidently in the digital age.
Inspired by the structure and clarity of medical diagrams and archival materials, we developed a minimalist yet distinctive visual identity. Neutral tones were paired with bold accent colours to signal clarity and trust, while a clean typographic system ensured legibility across all formats. Subtle visual cues — such as modular grids and icon-inspired motifs — nod to the Library’s organised, data-driven nature while keeping the tone approachable and human.
From editorial layouts and digital platforms to print materials and signage, the brand now speaks with clarity, calm authority, and purpose — a transformation we’re proud to have led at BodaWorks.
